W 1981 George i Andy założyli zespół mając po 18 lat. Wcześniej pracowali jako kelnerzy (m.in. w dyskotece "Club Tropicana") oraz jako bileterzy w północnym Londynie. Znali się od dawna, razem przez 7 lat chodzili do szkoły w Bushey. Podpisali kontrakt z firmą Epic. Drugi album "Make it Big" bił rekordy popularności, przez kilka miesięcy znajdował się na pierwszych miejscach w Anglii, USA, RFN, Skandynawii, Holandii, otrzymując miano platynowej płyty.
